At our October, 2018 board meeting 42 grants were approved for local nonprofits in our market area — everywhere from Ansonia to Groton, and from Hartford to New Haven. The following agencies received three-year grants from us, totaling $73,000 and allowing them to better plan their 2019 and 2020 budgets:
Beginning in 2017, we’ve approved three-year grants for agencies that have a long track record with us. Rather than asking these grantees to submit any paperwork (except a satisfactory follow-up report) in years two and three, we’re streamlining the process.
“Relationships with nonprofits can be most effective when funders put trust in their abilities. We’re moving towards a place where we can ‘get out of the way’ and let them carry on a mission we believe in and know they can deliver on,” says Sue Murphy, executive director, Liberty Bank Foundation.
