Meet Disha Beri, recipient of the 2020 Donald B. Wilbur Scholarship!
Beri is a 2020 graduate of Bristol Eastern High School and plans to attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York to study biomedical engineering on a pre-medicine track. Her involvement in the community is extensive. She’s volunteered with Friends of Rachel Club, Bristol Relay for Life, Kids in the Middle School, Imagine Nation, and Bristol Youth Services Peer Education. Her inspiration to major in biomedical engineering and practice medicine comes from her grandfather, with whom she has a close relationship.
Beri’s participation in a broad spectrum of activities has prepared her to excel in college. Her recommendation from her science teacher says, “Beri is the busiest student I have ever known, but she is also the most successful, selfless, and optimistic young woman I have had the honor to mentor.”
Established in 2008 in honor of retiring Liberty Bank Chairman Donald B. Wilbur, the $1,000 scholarship is presented annually to an outstanding graduating high school senior who plans to major in engineering or a technology-related field.
