Liberty Banker dog lovers recently took part in the CT Humane Society ‘s corporate engagement day. They met the pups and people at its Newington headquarters and then swung into action to make themselves useful. Here, they’re tying fleece strips to rubber mats that will serve many purposes for the dogs during their stay (an average of 22 days). The ‘snuffle mats’ line the pets’ crates to keep them comfy and serve as toys. Treats are tied into each one to give the dogs something to do but also help slow down eating for those who wolf their food. Red-shirted Liberty Bankers (left to right) are: Amy Helbling-Crafa, Jen Sprague, Anne Fenton and Anna Brothers. The woman in the blue shirt works for the Humane Society to train dogs in preparation for adoption. Besides love, some need to learn how to walk on a leash, follow commands, or behave better with others.
