On May 9, Liberty Bank walked away from the Middlesex United Way’s awards breakfast with top honors. The Community Spirit award is its highest recognition, taking into account: giving, volunteerism, service, and sponsorships by a single business. Liberty Bank’s 2018 campaign raised over $250,000 to support the United Way, approximately one-quarter of all funds raised last year. During the bank’s 2018 Liberty Lends a Hand volunteer campaign, a dozen bankers gave the United Way office a face lift with a fresh coat of paint. Liberty Bank sponsors two United Way groups — the Women’s Initiative, and the Young Leaders — and Liberty Bankers Toral Maher and Denise Brewer serve on the organization’s board. Thanks for the recognition, United Way. We’re glad to be of service! Among the large contingent of Liberty Bankers attending the event were: back row (l to r): Kurt Johnson, Chip Poehnert, David Cantor, Liberty Bank President and CEO David Glidden, and Barry Abramowitz; and front row (l to r): Troy Damboise, Robin Faircloth, Donna Flynn, 2018 United Way Campaign Chair, Shirley Cote, and Leslie McKillip.
