New Liberty Bank locations in Granby and Simsbury (that did not officially join the bank until October), have proved their mettle when it comes to fundraising.
The annual Liberty Bank / Rotary Thanksgiving Dinner Drive has been underway since 2004, and runs for about five weeks leading up to the holiday.
Now with 40-plus Rotary Clubs and 60 bank branches participating it’s not always easy to distinguish oneself. Well, that did not stop our Granby and Simsbury branches from teaming up with the Simsbury/Granby Rotary Club to compete in this year’s fundraising effort. The result? They collected a very respectable $18,062.
Once the Liberty Bank Foundation match was added, the Rotary had almost $23,000 to turn over to Foodshare to provide dinners for residents of the two towns. This also won them standing in the top 10 of all branch and Rotary partners participating in the campaign.
We say, well done to all our new team mates in those offices: Joe Beale, Jane Boorman, Agnes Caez, Bernadeta Eichner, Lori Ethier, Shirely Gentry, Roxanne Meade-Smith, Katie O’Brien, Joyce Post, Cristina Rei, AnneMarie Rogers, Melanie Switzer, and Maureen Tagliatela. Thanks also go to former Simsbury Bank Chief Executive Martin Geitz for his role in turning the campaign into such a success.
