Now in its fifteenth year, the Liberty Bank Rotary Club Thanksgiving Dinner Drive raised an astonishing, record-breaking $426,607 in 2018. This long-standing partnership involves 55 Liberty Bank branches, 40 Rotary Clubs and the East Haddam Lions Club. This year their efforts delivered a total of $339,285 in donations. Liberty Bank Foundation then provided matching dollars and incentives of $87,321. Money raised will purchase Thanksgiving meals and stock food pantries in the communities where it was donated. This will provide much-needed assistance when you consider that the CT Food Bank estimates that one in eight adults and one in six children in the state suffer from hunger.
Congratulations to our Rotary overachievers, who really brought home the bacon this year:
Double hats off to Hamden Rotary for exceeding last year’s results by 680 percent and earning a $1,000 incentive from Liberty Bank Foundation (over and above matching dollars earned). Honorable mention goes to the Madison Rotary which topped last year’s results by 646 percent!
