Yup. We covered the waterfront this time around, granting a total of $106,800, to agencies in the four corners of our service area, and lots of places in between. A little over one-half of granted funds were for the all-important area of early childhood education, serving organizations in Cromwell, Waterbury, Willimantic, Meriden, and New Haven.
We also supported two newbies, that we’d like to introduce:
CLiCK of Willimantic was established in 2009 to, in part, provide a shared space for small entrepreneur chefs and bakers to establish their businesses. In fact, several graduates from last fall’s Liberty Bank Small Business Academy use the space to further their businesses’ success. This time around, Branford’s Community Dining Room also joined our lineup of grantees. It’s been in operation since 1985, and today serves one hot meal per day, every day of the year, to food-insecure residents, as well as connecting diners with other needed social services. Community Dining Room
