Liberty Bank’s Derby office went all out in June to assist the St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank located in Derby. Employees collected nonperishable food items for donation, and also participated in the Derby Shelton Rotary’s cereal drive. Branch Manager Jennifer Cohen (l) dropped off the proceeds at the food bank. One of the collected items was a $25 gift card to local restaurant Smoke and Bones (thanks to Grant’s BBQ). Remy Kocurek, director, St Vincent de Paul, (r) relates a great story about the recipient of the gift card: “Today, I had an appointment with a homeless couple who are in the midst of a big struggle in their life, trying to right what has gone wrong. I choose their food carefully as their food preparation resources are limited. I was so happy to pass along that gift certificate to them, and they were beyond grateful.” Thank you to Liberty Bank employees and customers, Rotary members, and local businesses who contributed to the drive. Grateful recipients always make it all worthwhile!
