While turkeys aren’t exactly known for their flying prowess, the Liberty Bank/Rotary Thanksgiving Drive is another matter entirely. This year’s total soared 26 percent higher than our 2016 record-breaking result! Bottom line, 55 Liberty Bank branches, 40 Rotary Clubs and the East Hampton Lions Club did themselves proud.
Rotaries raised $283,297 and the Liberty Bank Foundation matched with 25 cents on the dollar, for an additional $70,824. In addition, the Branford Rotary won $1750 in incentive dollars, while the Southington Rotary brought home $500 in incentives.
That means over $356,372 will be divided among local food pantries and social service organizations to feed our hungry neighbors this holiday season. Rotary overachievers include:
East Hampton $37,312
Liberty Bank Foundation extends its hearty thanks to the Rotary and Lions Clubs for their exceptional efforts on behalf of their communities. We also salute the remarkable generosity of our customers, employees, and neighbors who contributed their funds to this cause.
Now, when we say “Happy Thanksgiving,” we know it applies to all our neighbors–something we can all be grateful for!
