That’s what the Liberty Bank Giving Circle is all about. It connects the thrill of home ownership with the promise of better things to come for those with no place to live. In April and May, the bank sets aside $100 for each mortgage application taken. The proceeds — this year totaling $28,000 — are then donated to local agencies serving the homeless in communities such as Bristol, Middletown, New Britain, New Haven, New London, Norwich, Waterbury, and Willimantic. Here, Liberty Bank Mortgage Originator Peter Ganci presents a Giving Circle check to Paula Oberg, executive director of Norwich’s Martin House.
