Governor Dannel P. Malloy has announced that Connecticut will be the latest state participating in the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Working Cities Challenge competition, an economic development effort that builds cross-sector collaboration and leadership to solve challenges affecting urban communities.
The Liberty Bank Foundation has committed to investing $60,000 over three years in the Working Cities Challenge. “This is a terrific opportunity for our small cities to build collaboratives that can address the issues facing their low- and moderate-income residents,” said Liberty President and CEO Chandler Howard. “The goal of Working Cities isn’t just to provide a program, but to change systems so that they support economic success for families and individuals over the long term.”
