The Early Childhood Funders Collaborative (of which Liberty Bank Foundation is a member) has provided a $25,000 grant to enable the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance and its partner agencies to develop a collective voice to advocate for early childhood programs at the state level. In addition, ECA will partner with Connecticut Voices for Children and Connecticut Parent Power to support state and local information sharing. The funds will be administered by the Connecticut Association for Human Services, which is acting as fiscal sponsor for the partners. A key goal will be to preserve funding for early childhood programs in the state budget now being developed.
The Early Childhood Funders Collaborative is an alliance of funders convened under the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy. The group was instrumental in the planning process that culminated in the creation of the state’s Office of Early Childhood, and continues to support the OEC’s strategic planning and organizational development, along with other initiatives affecting young children in the state.
