Exploring Career Pathways
Liberty Bank President & CEO Chandler Howard (above) was among 75 professionals who shared stories about their career paths with students at the second annual Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT Career Fair. More than 450 students from 14 high schools throughout Southeastern Connecticut attended the fair, which was held on Wednesday, March 23rd at Three Rivers Community College in Norwich.
In a gymnasium filled with representative from 50 businesses, nonprofits, and government agencies, students were able to learn about careers that interested them by having one-on-one conversations with people in those careers. It was a chance for them to ask professionals questions about what their work is, how they got where they are, and what advice they have for students aspiring to their career.
Students also attended breakout sessions where they were able to hear from professionals in Business/Finance, Hospitality/Tourism, Manufacturing/STEM, Health & Human Services, and Construction/Architecture.
This event was presented by the Business/Education Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT, co-chaired by Sue Murphy, Executive Director of the Liberty Bank Foundation, and Nancy Bulkeley of Dominion Resources. Liberty Bank Foundation and Dominion Resources co-sponsored the Career Fair.
