About 50 low-income students from Meriden and Wallingford were able to work this summer, thanks to the efforts of our foundation to expand the summer youth employment program there. A press conference was held today to celebrate the expansion, with the mayors of both towns present, along with the directors of the Youth Services departments that operate the programs. Funding partners for Meriden included Liberty, the James H. Napier Foundation, the CUNO Foundation, and the Meriden Foundation. In Wallingford, Liberty, Napier, and the town of Wallingford provided the funding. A total of $35,000 was raised between the two towns.
