Since 1997, we’ve done a lot of good!
Who can believe it’s been 20 years. We got the ball rolling way back in the late 90s, granting almost $190,000 to our local communities in our first year of giving. In 2016, that total climbed to more than $711,000! During that time, we’ve significantly expanded our giving area, and have steadily added to the agencies we support. We’ve also honed our giving focus to the needs we feel most strongly about: education that leads to economic success, affordable housing, and basic needs (such as food and shelter).
Overall, we’ve made over $10.3 million in grants to local nonprofits; invented the Thanksgiving Drive, which has raised $1.7 million for local food pantries over the last 13 years; and have emphasized volunteerism as a defining characteristic of Liberty Bank.
Liberty Bank Foundation is proud to be not just a grant-maker and source of volunteers, but a leader in bringing all constituencies to the table so issues are truly understood, and solutions have buy-in from the widest number of local residents.
