Madison Branch employees Donna Green and Troy Bree show off just some of the “loot” collected from Liberty Bankers for Save-A-Suit, a Bethel, CT-based group that helps returning vets dress for job-interview success. In all, the suit drive filled an eight-foot van with men’s and women’s suits, dress shirts and blouses, ties, shoes and purses. (Hey, who’s got suits galore to donate? Bankers, of course.) Troy spearheaded the drive and received a thank-you note from Save-A-Suit saying, “Our nonprofit exists and thrives because of individuals like you.”
Save-A-Suit was born in 2010 when Scott Sokolowski asked a simple question of a job candidate, “Why aren’t you wearing a suit today?” The interviewee said he couldn’t afford one. That’s all it took to get the ball rolling.
Scott has been in the business of acquiring talent for over 15 years and truly understands the importance of making a good first impression. He’s also a former vet, serving with the US Air Force for six years.
