“… nearly $28 million is being awarded to support the development of affordable housing across Connecticut as part of the latest round of funding under the state’s Competitive Housing Assistance for Multifamily Properties (CHAMP) program.”
Among the projects receiving grants is New Britain’s North Street Apartments, a supportive housing project of the Friendship Service Center. Up to $2,145,000 will go towards the construction of 11 efficiency and one-bedroom apartments, two of which will be for veterans. The Center will provide supportive housing services to the tenants in these apartments as they work towards ending chronic homelessness.
The Liberty Bank Foundation is proud to be a supporter of the North Street Apartments, having recently approved a grant for $15,000 toward development costs.
